Spirit Ocean Adventure 2011 Program Dates


Spirit Ocean Adventure Spring Break
    

Session 1 -                                                                        

Start Date – March 29, 2011                                                          

End Date - April 2, 2011                                                      

Beginning and ending in Charleston, South Carolina

$500 per student
For eighth through tenth grade students  

Session 2 - 
Start Date – April 18, 2011
End Date – April, 21, 2011
Beginning and ending in Charleston, South Carolina
$400 per student
For eighth through tenth grade students

                                                                 

No experience is necessary.

Program includes room and board, necessary equipment, and educational materials while on the ship. 

Travel to and from the vessel is not included.

Spring Break Program Highlights

  • 4 or 5 days aboard the Spirit of South Carolina
  • Charleston Harbor and coastal South Carolina sailing
  • Overnight programming
  • Possible destinations include Winyah Bay, Port Royal Sound, and ACE Basin
  • Topics covered include nautical sciences, marine sciences, and local interests


Spirit Ocean Adventure

Start Date – July 3, 2011
End Date – July 16, 2011
Beginning and ending in Portland, Maine
$2000 per student
For teens ages 15 to 18

No experience is necessary.

Program includes room and board, necessary equipment, and educational materials while on the ship. 

Travel to and from the vessel is not included.

Spirit Ocean Adventure Highlights

  • 14 days
  • Sail around the thousands of islands dotting the Gulf of Maine while keeping a
    sharp eye for seals, puffins, porpoise, and whales
  • Possible destinations include Acadia National Park, Isle of Shoals, and Stellwagen
    Bank National Marine Sanctuary
  • Topics covered include nautical sciences, marine sciences, and local interests
